Darien recently purchased access to a resource called CalmConnect which is used in classrooms during movement breaks, during times of transition, or when staff see students need to move or calm. Students follow along (either sitting or standing) to a series of movements which are effective in reducing off task behaviors and helping students to self-regulate. Staff and students report they are seeing a positive effect themselves.
Take a peek of an example of a biliterate student in action while at school yesterday. What amazing skills our students are learning!

Sinceramente,
Kelly Pickel, Principal
