2022 Southern Lakes  Anthology Winners

2022 Southern Lakes Advanced Learner Network Anthology Winners at Delavan-Darien School District

Congratulations to the Delavan-Darien students in grades 3-8 who had their Southern Lakes Anthology entries selected at the regional Southern Lakes Advanced Learner Network competition that was held in Whitewater, on Tuesday, January 25th.  Southern Lakes Anthology is an annual writing and art competition that is organized by the Southern Lakes Advanced Learners Network comprised of over 50 different participating school districts. The theme of this year’s contest was “Unstoppable.  Students submitted work in categories of prose, poetry, illustrated writing, expository writing (new category), art, and cartoons. 

This year’s regional winners are: Anika Lueloff, "The Undefeated Key”, poetry, 5th grade; Charlotte Adams, “Ice Cream Truck”, poetry, 5th grade; Alyssa Guzman, “You” artwork, 6th grade; Chloe Melito, “An Open Book”, poetry, 6th grade; Lilibeth Gomez, “Unloved”, poetry, 6th  grade; Erik Deibert, “Humanity”, poetry, 6th grade; Giselle Reyes Sanchez, “Couldn't Be Like Others”, poetry, 6th  grade; Nalaya Simon, “Our Thoughts”, artwork, 6th grade; Alison Archila “Rising”, artwork, 8th grade; Tanner Wagner, “Wait for Me”, artwork, 8th grade.

These students will have their entries published in the 2022 edition of the Southern Lakes Anthology and will be publicly recognized at a special reception that will be held on May 18th at the Young Auditorium at UW-Whitewater. Great job and congratulations to all of the students whose work was selected. You make us very proud.
